What's new in the TV industry today...
- Expect performances from Alanis Morissette, Reneé Rapp, Blake Shelton, TLC and more at “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ with Ryan Seacrest”. The show begins at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, the date’s in the name.
- YouTube TV will be raising its monthly subscription fee to a whopping $82.99 a month, starting January 13th 2025. Don’t worry though, Tablo’s got you covered with free broadcast TV and streaming channels.
- A “Scrubs” reboot is coming to ABC. Bill Lawrence, the show’s creator, has been given the green light to move forward by WB. It’s early days yet but this is a very good sign.
- Rumor has it that Apple plans to release a new Apple TV and HomePod with a special Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip dubbed “Proxima”. Check out the details here.
- Starting January 15th, viewers in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Los Angels and Phoenix will be able to enjoy the over-the-air channel TBD which airs “Punk’d,” “Saturday Night Live,” “Key & Peele,” “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and “World’s Dumbest”. If you’re in the area, run a channel scan on your Tablo to add these shows to your guide.
