Nuvyyo Adds Support for Larger Hard Drives,
Bulk Delete and More Highly-Anticipated Features
NEW YORK—June 24, 2015 — Nuvyyo today announced details of an update for all Tablo Over-The-Air DVRs which includes support for several new customer-requested features that dramatically improve the management, storage and playback of HDTV recordings. The new firmware (version 2.2.2) is built on an updated Linux kernel and includes the following new features:
- Support for larger hard drives
Tablo customers are now able to take advantage of USB hard drives larger than 2TB to record and archive even more hours of high definition TV programming. Drive formatting time has also been sped up, with a 5TB drive ready to use in as little as 30 seconds. - Expanded support for FFW previews & closed captioning
Support for FFW previews and closed captioning has been added to Tablo apps for PC/MAC, Android tablets, Android TV & Amazon Fire TV. - Background SmartSync
The sync process for Tablo apps will now be run in the background so users can continue to browse, set recordings and watch content while updates from Tablo’s database are shared with the app. - Bulk delete
New series-based delete options including ‘delete watched recordings’ and ‘delete all recordings’ has been added to Tablo apps for PC/MAC, Android tablets, Android TV & Amazon Fire TV. This feature will also be coming soon to Roku.
Tablo has also improved its FFW preview generation engine and added updates to increase performance and reliability with this latest update.
“Now that we’ve expanded and launched new apps for Roku, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV set-top-boxes, we are focusing on adding more features and improved functionality across our products,” said Grant Hall, CEO at Nuvyyo. “These improvements make it even easier to cut the cord with Tablo and make watching TV via our apps even more enjoyable for our customers.”
These new features will be available in July for all Tablo customers via a free firmware update.
Nuvyyo will be demonstrating these new features and apps at CEWeek in the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, June 24 & 25th in booth 140.
